What Are Impacted Wisdom Teeth?

An Impacted Wisdom Tooth occurs when your third molars grow at an abnormal angle compared to the rest of your teeth. Sometimes these third molars grow towards bone or other teeth to the point where they collide (hence the word ‘Impacted‘). Often this growth can occur either completely underneath or partially ‘erupt’ (surface) from the gum line. Wisdom teeth that are not impacted and currently causing issues can sometimes be safely left alone, but any impacted third molars should certainly be examined and most likely will be removed.
